Owning our story and loving who we are!
We’re waving our flags and hearts, embracing our light, and joining in the fun. With parades, festivals, and concerts going on across the globe, there’s always some way for all of us to get involved. Pride is so much more than a festival or parade, pride lives in our history, our homes, our communities and our hearts every day.
During the month of June, the world’s LGBTQ+ communities come together to celebrate love and authenticity! Pride gatherings are rooted in the arduous history of minority groups who have fought for decades to overcome prejudice and be accepted for who they truly are.
Five ways to celebrate Pride Month
1. Be an ally. If someone you know tells you that they are LGBTQ+, be supportive and honest.
2. Attend a pride event. June and July offer many events. To find pride events in your city, please visit http://www.gaypridecalendar.com/world
3. Volunteer or donate to a local LGBTQ+ organization.
4. Educate yourself. Learn about the story of pride and the significance of the Stonewall uprising.
5. Become an advocate at work. Start an open conversation and provide resources. Remember your voice is powerful.
Our voices are EXTREMELY POWERFUL and need to be shared with the world. By sharing your story, you help others believe anything is possible, by learning about you, your culture, your purpose and your vision towards a more inclusive world! We’ve been waiting to listen to your spirit talk, #LetYourVoiceBeHeard!
