With big, really big smiles, eyes wide open and some NYC style light jackets! Every April 22nd, we celebrate Earth Day. Whether it’s a walk through the woods, picking up litter or being more conscious about our relationship with our planet on a daily basis, it is great to know we have a variety of options to help our planet!
Earth Day 2022 will mark the 52nd anniversary of this holiday, and this year’s theme is “Invest In Our Planet.” The idea behind this year’s theme is to encourage all community partners (Corporate America, government, citizens) to take concrete steps towards following more sustainable practices, buying from greener companies, and taking more of an active and sustainable role towards Earth’s wellbeing.
Most importantly, the impact of climate change threatens the most vulnerable communities on our planet. Indigenous rights to land and life are threatened globally as companies and governments continue to prioritize profit over human rights.
All of these factors make environmental work deeply interconnected with social and health equity for all. Together we can make a difference by championing the environment, human rights and unity!
